General introduction to Fosun Silk sutures

• Natural multifilament braided silk suture, non-absorbable.
• Black color.
• It is obtained from the cocoon of the Bombyx Mori I silk worm.
• Tissue reactivity may be moderate.
• Tension force is maintained trough time although it. decreases until tissue encapsulation occurs.
• Color Code: Blue label.
• Frequently used in tissue confrontation or ties except urologic procedures.

           

 Sterilization method: gamma radiation or ethylene oxide (can be used directly without being re-sterilized before use)
